The Family Place - Smithfield

Our mission is to strengthen families and protect children. Our Smithfield location offers our Kids Place, which is a free, temporary program offered to all caregivers in our community with children ages 11 and under. Our goal is to provide a safe, caring place for children to stay when caregivers need extra support, focusing on emotions and the needs of children and caregivers. Our Education team provides a variety of classes such as parenting and stepfamily classes, a body safety course called Kids Empowered, Mental Health First Aid training, and more. Our Family Educators also teach parents personalized strategies in the home. Our therapy services focus on two general needs in our community: Strengthening family relationships and healing from trauma. We provide counseling, marriage and family therapy, and a variety of therapy group and workshops.
