The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health's (DSAMH) victim advocate provides a trained, community-based, trauma-informed voice to provide support and assistance to crime victims involved with the Board of Pardons and Parole (BOPP). The victim advocate can provide support and assistance with the following activities: Attending BOPP hearings, assistance in writing victim impact statements to the BOPP, post-BOPP hearing supportive services, safety planning, protective orders, crime victim's compensation applications, and referrals to crisis intervention services.
